YMCA Warriors!

One of the most exciting updates to Challenge Course by GameTime® is the ability to design your own course to meet your specific space and budget. In St. Louis, the Carondelet Park YMCA did just that, and they are using their course to keep children and families active!

Fox News 2 in St Louis sent correspondent Tim Ezell to put the new course through its paces. Watch the video to see how his time stacks up to other YMCA Warriors.

The Challenge Course was designed and installed by Cunningham Recreation, GameTime's exclusive representative in St. Louis. It was also a collaborative effort among partners across the St. Louis region. With funding from Missouri Foundation for Health’s Healthy Schools Healthy Communities initiative, the Challenge Course came to life through the combined efforts of BJC HealthCare School Outreach and Youth Development, St. Louis Parks Department, Carondelet Park Rec Complex YMCA, and neighborhood Alderwomen Sarah Martin and Beth Murphy.

"We are excited about the addition of the Challenge Course next to our Y," said Jennie Alberts, senior program director, Carondelet Park Rec Complex YMCA. "This will provide opportunities to get youth involved in new types of physical activity. We are proud to serve our community with much-needed healthy living programs."

"The ability to design a custom Challenge Course was a highly requested option from our customers," said Jon Walker, product manager with GameTime. "You can select from more than a dozen components to create the perfect course for your community."

The YMCA team selected the right mix of components to fit in the 2,400 square feet of space next to the YMCA. It includes five obstacles designed to enhance strength, speed and agility.

If you are ready to challenge your community to better health and wellness, contact a GameTime representative in your neighborhood. They can help you select a preconfigured course or show you how to design your own.
