The First Inclusive Playground Climber
The Sensory Wave Climber edged out SIXTEEN other finalists in its category. GameTime designed the product in partnership with Charlotte-based design firm BOLTGROUP. Sensory Wave Climber is the industry’s first playground climber of its kind.
Many people think of inclusive play as accessible to people with physical limitations. But 1 in 6 children between the ages of 2 and 8 have social, emotional, and cognitive disabilities.
The Sensory Wave Climber addresses these critical issues. It also provides a fun and stimulating play experience for all children. The combination of physical climbing with rich multi-sensory experiences is a true innovation.
Designed for Exploration
The undulating, sculptural design invites children to explore and interact. The molded-in grips, grooves, and supports are ergonomically-designed. They assist children as they climb up, over, through, and around. The optional interactive sensory modules enable play patterns that go beyond physical play.
Visual, auditory, and tactile elements promote sensory integration and enhance fine motor skills. For users with limited mobility, an adaptive switch can also activate the sensors. Sensory Wave Climber is the first commercial playground equipment with this capability.
