GameTime and Dr Stuart Brown Host Bay Area Play Symposium

GameTime, a leading manufacturer of commercial playground equipment, outdoor fitness equipment and custom play spaces, is sponsoring a professional development symposium in Oakland, California for parks and recreation professionals, educators and landscape architects. Attendees throughout the Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area have registered for the day-long symposium that features Dr. Stuart Brown, world-renowned play expert and founder of the National Institute for Play. The symposium will be held at the Dunsmuir Hellman Historic Estate on August 24, 2016 and includes interactive events and presentations on multiple topics, including:

  • The History of Play and its Importance in our Lives
  • Case Studies on Innovative Outdoor Recreation Projects that Align with National Trends and Funding Sources
  • Advocacy Action Planning for Community Play and Recreation Projects

Presenters include Dr. Stuart Brown, M.D.; Nicholas Williams, Director of Oakland Parks and Recreation; Audree V. Jones, Past Director of Oakland Parks and Recreation and Master Trainer Tom Norquist, Senior Vice President of GameTime and PlayCore. PlayCore is the parent company of GameTime and is approved by IACET, LACES and AIA to award continuing education units (CEUs). Attendees who complete the symposium will receive Continuing Education Certificates and CEUs will be awarded.
