Spinning on a merry-go-round is a cherished childhood memory for many adults. We remember that rush of excitement when our parent grabbed the handle and started to run, nerves melting into laughter as we caught their reassuring smile through the bars. What many of us didn’t notice back then were the barriers that kept some children from participating.
Stories like these are why spaces like Bridgeport Sports Complex matter. When the park opened, people of all ages and abilities ran to explore the new play area, each drawn to a different experience. It is an environment where everyone can come as they are, playing side by side on swings, discovering sensory panels together, or simply connecting through shared spaces.
