Fremont, California is known as a fossil rich area among paleontological circles. When the community decided to build a new playground, they wanted to integrate their Mesozoic past with a design that moved play forward.
PlayWorx designed multiple themes for the park, including a Redwood Forest and a Saber Tooth Tiger. The Saber Tooth Tiger is found at the entrance of the park. At 20 feet wide, 25 feet long and 11 feet tall, he is a striking presence, large enough to walk through his belly or climb and scoot down his paw.
The custom 15 foot tall Redwood Tree is designed with an internal climber that takes you from a ground level entrance to an observation platform 12 feet above the playground. At the back, there is a ramp that links the tree to traditional play components like climbers, steppers, crawl tunnels and slides.
